Process

Inspiration comes from all places good and bad…a texture, an object, a story, a doodle.

~I begin with the raw clay and mold it to become what I need.

~When the clay is dry, I bisque fire it in the kiln.

~I glaze the clay and fire it to a higher temperature in the kiln for durability.

~I then begin the assemblage process, figuring out the placement of the completed clay parts with the found objects.

~Epoxy is used to adhere the pieces together.

~The epoxy is sanded, and some or part of the assembled piece is painted with acrylic.

~Sometimes there is a collage process and there is mark-making with pencils of one kind or another.
